Paul Waterhouse was thirty years of age and an accountant by profession. The events, which occurred in the early hours of Friday morning, 6th. August 1993 will stay with him for a long time to come.

When I visited his home at Long Lea, Keighley, West Yorkshire, he gave the following account of what he called the’ extraordinary occurrence’.

He said, “ I was asleep in bed when I was suddenly awoken by a loud noise which sounded like the whirring of an industrial vacuum cleaner which was coming from outside my bedroom window. I got out of bed and went to the window and was amazed to see a white glowing object hovering outside the window. It was glowing a bright white colour and about the size and shape of a normal dustbin. A beam of white light was coming from the centre of the bottom of the object and projecting down towards the ground.

As I stared in amazement, it started to descend and move to the right hand side of the house and at that time I lost sight of it. I went for a drink of water and then went back to bed. The following morning as I left the house to go to work I noticed burn marks on the lawn in front of my bedroom window. On closer inspection I found four sets of burn marks starting at the front of the house and finishing on the lawn at the back of the house”.

I noticed that he lived in a detached bungalow in its own gardens, surrounded by lawns and situated on a hill at one of the highest points in Keighley. Next door was an electric sub-station contained within a brick building.

On entering the garden I immediately noticed the first set of burn marks were under the bedroom window where the witness slept. The marks had burned the grass back to the soil level and were accompanied by depressions of approximately half an inch, indicating that something of considerable weight had caused them. I was unable to create similar pressure marks when applying my body weight of over twelve stones.

The indentation marks, which were part of the burned area comprised of three distinct shield shaped patterns, all identical and pointing out from a central position. Each shield was 9 inches wide by 8 inches long. The overall width of the pattern of three was 21 inches. Using a fluid based compass, a reading of 5 degrees difference was noted from the inside of the marks to an area a few feet away. The ground temperature was the same at the marks as other areas of the garden. There was no evidence of smell, although heavy rain had fallen before my visit. I saw that there were two sets of marks fifteen feet apart on the front lawn, one set on the side lawn and one set on the back lawn.

Regardless of the origin of the object, it had obviously generated a lot of heat. From what would first appear to be some form of landing gear, there were indications on nearby bushes that heat had been close to the bushes causing the leaves to shrivel.

Unfortunately, as with many such incidents the witnesses experience must join the list of unknowns, but the object was obviously air-born and as with many other incidents it was seen close to a high voltage transformer.

The witness has experienced various strange electrical occurrences within his home for a considerable time, but has put this down to living next to an electrical sub-station.

THE DAY THE EARTH MOVED

John Wood is a sheep farmer living in a very isolated farm near Kettlewell, in the North Yorkshire Dales. He was absolutely amazed when suddenly overnight; a twenty-foot crater appeared in one of his fields. The 57 year old farmer said,” I don’t know where all the earth has gone”. He estimated that some 120 tonnes of soil had gone missing together with the surface grass that had covered it. The hole appeared almost two miles from his farmhouse in some of the most barren and desolate countryside in the Yorkshire Dales. He added, “ The hole is very deep and I will have to fence it off quickly because it’s like a bomb crater”.

There is no question of the hole occurring due to subsidence because there have never been any mine workings anywhere near the area and the fact that the surface grass had also disappeared.

There have been several similar occurrences recorded in the past few years, including Switzerland and Russia.

MORE MUTILATED ANIMALS IN ENGLAND

During the early part of 1993, the mutilation of animals was again reported in South West Wiltshire. However, on a farm at Midcombe, near Dorset two young calves were found dead in a field. The manner of the mutilations was typical of the many thousands occurring in the United States and Canada.

The injuries to the unfortunate animals consisted of the removal of ears, their tongues and their sexual organs, which had been neatly cored out. The owner of the animals stated that there was no sign of blood whatsoever, not even on the wounds. Local Police were reported to be investigating the incident.

On Sunday, 18th. July 1993 the owner of a Shetland pony Stud Farm found a five-week-old foal dead in her field. She stated that the animal should have been with its mother and suspected that something was wrong when she saw the mother without the foal. She went out into the field to find the foal and found the body of the animal.

She went on to say that the foal had been mutilated; its ears and part of the scalp were missing. There appeared to have been interference with its sexual organs. She said that she had never seen anything like it in her life. The case was handed over to the RSPCA and local Police for investigation.

Despite trying to get further information from the Police and RSPCA, I found that they were reluctant to give any information as to the injuries received by the animal. The case had to be treated as caused by person or persons unknown. As in all strange animal mutilation cases a wall of silence suddenly descends on the authorities. One has to ask the question, “ What are they hiding”.

MORE NIGHT ENCOUNTERS

It was August, 1988 when Mrs. Smith of Burnley, Lancashire had an experience she would never forget. She was a 55 year old Italian woman who had married an Englishman. She had no knowledge or interest in the subject of UFOs. Prior to the incident.

She stated that she had gone to bed at about 2am. After watching a late night film on television. Her husband had gone to bed earlier. She described the night as very warm and because of this she left a large bedroom window open. She got in bed and quickly fell asleep. Sometime later she was awoken by someone touching her stomach.

She said, “ I felt this hand touching my stomach and I jumped up in fear. I saw this little figure, about three feet six inches tall, wearing a silver coloured suit and helmet with what appeared to be a kind of aerial about 12 inches long coming from the left side of the helmet”. She went on to say that the little figure was obviously as shocked as she was because it ran to the open window and jumped out. Mrs. Smith went to the window to see the little figure running across the lawn and into some nearby shrubbery.

Sometime after the incident the witness contracted cancer of the stomach and underwent major surgery for its removal. Several months after the incident Mrs. Smith’s 25 year old daughter was working in the kitchen of the same house. She suddenly turned round from the sink and saw the same silver suited figure standing behind her. She was so terrified about the incident that she refused to talk about it anymore.

MULTIPLE ABDUCTIONS- FOUR FRIENDS ABDUCTED FROM THE GARDEN

The Summer of 1995 will long be remembered. Temperatures soared to sweltering new heights and rain seemed a thing of the past as reservoir levels dropped dramatically to expose vicious cracks resembling an eerie moonscape. An isolated freak of nature, or further evidence of the Greenhouse Effect taking hold?

Saturday the 15th of July saw another day of baking temperatures. As evening approached, a wisp of a breeze could be felt as the heat gradually diminished, bringing a sigh of relief to the scorched countryside. The setting Sun slowly turned crimson red as it retired to the distant horizon

By 10.15pm temperatures had dropped to a typical warm tropical night and two families living in Halifax, West Yorkshire, having endured the heat of the day decided it was an ideal time to erect a barbecue in the back garden of one of their homes. Mr and Mrs Brown and Mr and Mrs Jones took a table and four chairs into the garden close to the barbecue nearby, which Mr Jones tended. By 10.40pm the coals burned brightly and the smell of cooking meat percolated through the garden. Meanwhile Mrs Jones had taken a portable radio into the garden to enjoy some background music. Four glasses were placed on the table and filled with cider to accompany their meal.

The preparations came sharply to a halt when Mrs Brown looked up and saw a very large disc-shaped object that had suddenly appeared hovering approximately 20 feet above the garden. She screamed to the others while pointing towards the object. There was a stunned silence as all four witnesses looked up in amazement at the circular craft that appeared to be watching them.

Suddenly the two women screamed in panic as they saw a door on the underside of the object open. A powerful shaft of light shone down onto the garden and at this point all four later described feeling light headed, confused and dreamlike.

One of the witnesses said,” It was if we had just entered a vacuum, all sound seemed to have stopped and everything seemed to go in slow motion and we all felt disorientated. Suddenly the craft started to move slowly away and we all watched it until it was just a glowing light in the distance”.

The witnesses had by now recovered somewhat and were able to talk to each other, but felt the effects of severe shock. All four suffered violent stomach pains and felt nauseous. Although the event had seemingly lasted only a few minutes, they were all amazed when Mr Jones looked at his watch and saw that the time was nearly midnight. Over an hour had passed since the object had first appeared and none had any memory of missing time.

In the days that followed each witness described suffering from the effects of acute diarrhoea and nausea and all were deeply disturbed by the events which had thrown their lives into total chaos. On the night of the incident, police had been called to the house where the matter was treated seriously and a full report was fully recorded.

When I interviewed the witnesses they were obviously still suffering from the effects of their traumatic experience. Each stated that they had great difficulty sleeping that night because of nightmares and recurring dreams. They described the object a disc-shaped with a dome on the top, with what appeared to be oblong shaped windows around the dome itself. Around the bottom edge of the disc were very bright white flashing lights which appeared to rotate in an anti-clockwise motion. The craft was described as being over 20 feet in diameter and of dark or black metallic colour. It had an opening on the underside from which came the powerful shaft of white light that shone to the ground.

Immediately after the incident both couples found that two of the four glasses of cider had disappeared. A search of the garden and surrounding area failed to locate them and they have never been found to this day.

With the consent of the witnesses it was decided to use hypnosis to try to investigate the missing time and learn more details surrounding the event. This took place on Sunday, 13 August, 1995.

Under hypnosis Mrs Jones displayed visual signs of extreme fear as she described a circular craft hovering in the air approximately 20 feet from their position. She said, “There’s a very bright shaft of light coming from the bottom of the object. It’s shining down onto the bottom of the garden”.

Once again she was showing great fear as she continued:

“There’s a small figure in the garden, it’s wearing a black cloak with a hood on. It’s got a strange very pale face with a pointed chin. It’s got very large black eyes. There are two more of them in the garden now. I can’t move, they’ve got hold of my arms they’re dragging me towards the light. Oh the bright light it’s hurting my eyes. I’m very close to the craft now, it’s about 30 feet in diameter, it’s got a dome with strange arch shaped windows around the dome. There are red,green,and blue lights they seem to be rotating on the underside edge of the object. There appears to be an open doorway underneath the craft. Oh the light coming from it is hurting my eyes, they’re dragging me towards the light. It’s strange I can’t hear any sound “.

“ I’m struggling, I’m trying to break free from them but I can’t. The three figures are identical to each other they’re about the size of a small boy. They’re making strange animal-like grunting noises as if talking to each other”.
